Preserve Historic Homesteads – Volunteer Days

Clean, sand, paint and/or repair, handicap ramp, signs, fences, porches, doors, ceilings, walls, and hurricane window covers. Back-fill archaeology dig units, rake yard, mulch flower beds, trim trees, move trash and concrete rubble, etc.

Clean floors, windows, move artifact boxes, repair model, etc. Clean, record, frame, and archive wallpaper fragments, etc. Clean, record, and archive books. Clean, polish, and/or paint exhibit cases, book shop items, and furniture.

Prepare and serve food.

 "Preserve Historic Homesteads" in Freedmen's Town - 4th Ward. It is one of the most endangered, post Civil-War, National Register Historic Districts of its kind in the U.S. founded and built by previously enslaved people and their descendants immediately after Emancipation in 1865.
